11 "Faux Pas" That Are Actually OK To Use With Your Robot Vacuum Deals

Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

This is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday and can save you up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of any object it encounters so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease while leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t want. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop by speaking to it.

The design is also superior to the competition. It features an elegant, top piece that looks like toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty, which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots can't accomplish this feat. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair.

Although it's not as efficient as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs The j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who need a vac and a mop in their home. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.

Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners.  robotic vacuums  can take a while to download updates, and it's sometimes difficult to know if they are working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. These bots also come with various additional features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but they often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent choice if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles like tables and walls which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls or in corners.

Like  robotic vacuums , the Q5+ can be controlled using a handful of buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you begin and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also has a large LCD display that is great to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people however it will aid in keeping track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot effortlessly.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is among the top in the market however it's quite expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robot vacuum I've tried that does well at picking up dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price tag.

If you're looking to cut costs or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums that have the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning on hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be located near an outlet with plenty of space to move.

The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is less ostentatious in comparison to other models. It has a sleek black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its rivals. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it left off.

The elegant G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring expenses, charges faster and has a similar battery life while offering better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand, is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
